Project Ma Table
Image
Date 2009
Ma is a Japanese word which can be roughly translated as "gap", "space", "pause" or as
"the space between two structural parts.”
The construction of the leg utilises this space to create an element of detail through subtle means. The legs have been formed by laminating plywood which join to a frame supporting a stained solid beech top. The size of the table and the material used for the top can be easily adapted, providing options for both domestic and commercial use.
