Concept 1 - Blank Canvas
In order for the chairs to be coherent as a range when used together and to ensure they would work as comfortable and practical pieces, a basic template, the ‘blank canvas’, was created. Upon this grounding an experimentation of ideas could take place, by replicating the basic form of the chair and adding or adjusting certain components. In doing this the hope was that a continuity could be achieved with the range while creating an individual characteristic to each chair which was born out of the original. Not unlike how a family is formed, a family who would be using these chairs.
